LETTING GO......
The angels gathered near his side
Very close to him and you,
For they knew the pain and suffering
That he was going through.
You thought about so many things
As you held tightly to his hand,
Oh how you wished that he was strong
And happy once again.
But his eyes were looking homeward
To that place beyond the sky,
Where Jesus held His outstretched arms
It was time to say goodbye.
You struggled with your selfish thoughts
For you wanted him to stay,
So you could walk and talk again
Like you did.....just yesterday.
But Jesus knew the answer
And He knew you loved him so,
So you gave to him life's greatest gift
The gift of letting go.
