Obituary of Carole CoDyre

Please share a memory of Carole to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Carole CoDyre (Newstead), cherished mother and fierce advocate for those living with special needs, will live on in the hearts and minds of many. Carole passed away on December 15th, 2022 in her 81st year after battling cancer and dementia. Daughter of the late Jack and Alice (Golden) Newstead. Beloved wife of the late Bernard CoDyre and loving mother of Joletta (Steve) and Tim. Cherished grandmother of Jazzlin, Colton, Reece, Emlyn, Brandon (Teresa) and Andy (Anne). Great grandmother of Zackary, Christopher and Luke. She will be sadly missed by her brothers John (Carol) and Kerry (predeceased Donna), and niece Alice. Carole will also be fondly remembered by her many in-laws, nieces, nephews, and friends. Carole was born and raised in Brantford and spent the last 50 years living on a street filled with ‘neighbourly love’. After her children were both in school full time she became a direct support professional at the Brantwood Residential Centre. Carole went above and beyond serving all clients with dignity and compassion. She was passionate about animals from an early age and loved spending time on the family farm looking after the horses and any little ‘Jimmy’ that needed tending. Her love of animals was also evident in her ‘pig collection’ and the many beloved pets that formed a part of her family over the years. Carole loved gardening, music, coffee and the odd slot machine. She was witty and loved humour, explaining life in idioms, “A penny saved is a penny earned”. Carole will be sadly missed. Her life will forever be remembered for all the care she gave to others. Friends will be received at the Hill and Robinson Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 30 Nelson Street on Thursday, December 22nd from 10 am until 11 am. A Funeral Service will be held in the chapel at 11am. Burial will take place at St. Joseph's Cemetery. Donations to the charity of one’s choice would be appreciated. Donations, condolences, and tributes (especially memorable moments) are available online at www.hillandrobinson.com.
