Condolences
Judy and I were shocked and saddened to hear of Fatty’s passing.
All our thoughts are with you, Linda, and your family in this time.
So many fond memories watching you guys play at the Holiday Inn and various venues around town.
I hope Vern is “walking on sunshine”
So sad to hear of the passing of Vern. My condolences to Linda and the members of the Smith family. His passing is a loss to the music community of Brantford. R.I.P. Fatty.
My sincerest Condolances to Linda & Family, Fatty & Linda are special People! as everyone knows! I'm Glad too have called them Friends! Fatty was a Great drummer brother & Friend! so saddened by his passing! RIP Fatty
I had the pleasure of meeting Fatty back in 1969, through my first husband Doug Merrill. He too was a drummer and in the music circles of that era, all of the great musicians residing in Brantford, at one time or another got together just to jam. Fatty and his lovely wife Linda became a part of our lives and for a time took care of our daughter Kristi. I remember so many fun times with this loving couple and feel blessed to have kept in contact for these many years. Fatty was a genuine person; a smile was always on his face, a kind word always spoken and a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be truly missed. Our deepest sympathies to you Linda, Chris, Steve and Taylor.
I knew Vern from public school (Victoria) way back. We both ended up being drummers. We would jam at Norm's Pub when Ken and Debbie Ross owned the place. It was fun. I was saddened to hear of his passing and send my condolences to his family. Heaven has received a great talent. RIP Vern
Words cannot express how loved this man is.
I was introduced to Fatty and Linda years ago through their friendship with my late husband, Pete.
Such wonderful friends.
Most of you know that they were a big part of celebrating Pete's life by playing with their band mates at Pete's Celebration of Life, 10 years ago.
I cannot thank them enough for that fantastic gift to us all.
Say hello to Pete, Sticks and all our friends and family hanging out together in a special place in heaven, Fatty!
You have earned your wings!
Linda and family, my heart aches for you!
My sincere condolences!
I met Vern when he moved to William St. I lived about a block away and we were instant friends. Attended Victoria Public School together, went on hikes, walked the tracks to Paris and back, built a tree fort in his back yard and generally hung together.
His parents threw wicked fun parties with lots of laughter and his mom and aunt taught me how to dance.
We reconnected at the start of Covid and talked about a drink and reminiscing when things got better…unfortunately we missed that opportunity but I hope he saves me a seat wherever he is and we get to catch up. My sincere condolences to Linda and the family. He was a good person.
