Obituary of Muriel Medek

Please share a memory of Muriel to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Muriel Medek Muriel passed away on a beautiful fall day, October 19 th , 2022 just shy of her 93 rd birthday, predeceased by Tony (2017), the love of her life. Mom was caring, funny, stubborn and brave (not always in that order) and showed us how to tackle life head on with strength and humour. She loved to travel and camp and held a special place in her heart for the mountains of Jasper and the beaches of Texas. On Saturday nights, mom and dad could often be found dancing or playing cards with friends. Self-taught, she sewed our clothes, knitted our sweaters, grew our food, and made the best sweet and sour pickles, butter tarts, date squares, peach and strawberry rhubarb pie, and of course, fudge. Mom both adored and was immensely proud of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who in turn, always brought a smile to her face. Mom and dad were two halves of the same whole, never complete unless they were together, and now once again, they are. We love you mom. Marsha (Mike), Michelle (Derek), Nancy, Jerry (Jean), Jim, Doug (2017) (Janice), Garry (2017), Jim (Jess), Nick (Christie), Jake, Jordan (Jarred), Lisa, Oliver, Mackenzie, Isabella. Marsha and Michelle would like to thank the staff at the BGH Willet Transitional Unit. Their exceptional team provided such great care and compassion to both mom and us. As per her request cremation has taken place. Arrangements have been entrusted with Hill and Robinson Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 30 Nelson St. Brantford, 519-752-2543. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society of Ontario would be appreciated.
