Obituary of Christina Thomas

Her beautiful smile lit up our lives! It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing on May 23, 2022 of Christina McKenzie Thomas (nee Duncan) in her 87th year at her home surrounded by her family. She has been reunited with her husband Ronald, the love of her life, who passed away 26 years ago, her parents Malcolm and Laura Duncan, sisters Joyce Peacock and Isabella Robinson as well as many other family and friends that have predeceased her. Most of her younger years were spent living on farms. One was in Port Stanley which became a favourite town for day trips. She had a love for all living creatures and enjoyed working in her gardens and watching the birds in the yard with a glass of Inniskillin Late Autumn Reisling in her hand. Christina was much loved and she loved unconditionally back. She was a Mother, Fierce Protector, #1 Supporter and, most of all, Friend to daughters Maxine Helmer (Roy) and Darlene Quigley (Hanfort). She was quick witted and was known to banter back and forth with her son-in-laws. She was a beloved Grandmother to Jennifer Sinkovits, Joe Helmer, Sarah Helmer Rachel Helmer and Rebecca Helmer. Great Grandmother to Sebastian, Evie, Syd and Anthony. She will be dearly missed by her remaining sister Laura Campbell. She was also loved by her little dog Pippa who was always by her side. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hill and Robinson Funeral Home, 30 Nelson Street, Brantford. A private family interment will take place following cremation. A Celebration of Life will be held on her birthday October 2, 2022. Details will be announced closer to the time. Donations to the charity of your choice can be made for those who wish to donate in her name. Thank you to the staff of B8 at the Brantford General Hospital for your care while she was a patient. Thanks to Kimm and Anna from the Home and Community Care Support Services. You are awesome! Thank you also to Dr. Trevor and the Palliative Care Outreach Team, PSW's from Paramed, and the Palliative Nurses from Bayshore. A very special thank you to our own nurse Jennifer for her very special care of her Grandma. Without you all we wouldn't have been able to bring Christina home.
