Dorlas, Gertrude Anna (nee Snyder) - In her 94th year, passed away peacefully on January 21, 2022 at her home in Brantford. Gertrude is survived by and will be greatly missed by her beloved husband of 67 years John 'Jack' Dorlas, her three children John (Rosanne) Dorlas, Mary Ann (John) Leitch, Doreen (William) Shannon, grandchildren Stefanie (Ryan) McFarlane, Claire Leitch, Paul Leitch (Coralee), Rachael (David) Marathakis, Kyler Shannon, Jaclyn Shannon and great grandchildren Olive Leitch Winters, Emma and John Marathakis. Gertrude was born in Blaine Lake Saskatchewan and came to Brantford as a young teen. She was a member of the St. Pius CWL for over 60 years, an avid mall walker and passionate spoiler of her grandchildren.
At the family's request, cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation or service. The family will hold a private celebration of life at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to the Hill and Robinson Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 30 Nelson Street, 519-752-2543. Donations to the Alzheimer's Society or the Stedman Community Hospice would be appreciated.
