Obituary of Deborah Deeks

Deborah (Debee) Deeks (nee Slade) passed away on July 9th at the Brantford General Hospital in her 69th year after a short and difficult battle with cancer. Beloved mother, friend and companion to Stephanie Deeks, Candice Deeks and Esmee Deeks (fur-baby). Predeceased by her husband, Stephen Deeks (2010), parents Edward Slade and Irma Boyce, and furry companions Jesse James and Liam Khoal. Deborah - hebrew meaning "bee;" the small but mighty bee is a good representation of our mother's life and personality. Debee was certainly a busy bee who started her professional life in nursing but had the opportunity to pursue many passions, including operating her own businesses and volunteering for numerous community agencies. Debee was a creative and vibrant person who will be deeply missed by many. She strongly believed in creating something every day; she often talked about having "idea-itis" for renovation projects, decor, many art/craft projects: Debee had a special way of making all things beautiful. Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.
