Woodley, Merece (nee Hughes) Surrounded by her family, on Monday, October 19, 2015 in her 91st year, Merece slipped peacefully away to "fly over her rainbow". Cherished Mother to Richard Allison (Monica), Nancy Waring (Fred) and Cynthia Morgan. Beloved wife to Robert , step mother of David (Carolyn) and Brian (Linda) Woodley. Merece will be dearly missed by her 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews, and fondly remembered by some as Gigi. Merece is survived by her sister Donna (Chuck) Munday. Predeceased by her son Phillip Allison (1958), sister Phyllis Stewart (2002) and brother Reid Hughes (2001). Born in Lynden, Ontario, Merece worked as a medical secretary at St. Joseph's Hospital X-ray department in Brantford for 27 years. She was a past member of the Brant Heritage Quilt Guild. Friends will be received at Hill & Robinson Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 30 Nelson Street, Brantford, on Thursday, October 22, 2015, from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm, and 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm. A Funeral service will be held in the chapel on Friday, October 23, 2015 at 3:00 pm. Cremation to follow. Many thanks to all of the staff and doctors at Brierwood Gardens Nursing Home, emergency and 8th floor staff at the B.G.H., for their care and support. Donations to the Alzheimer's Society would be appreciated.
