Obituary of John Hider

Hider, Denis John "Jack" Claringbould The family of Denis John Claringbould Hider (Lieutenant RNVR) announce his passing on May 28, 2015 after almost 97 glorious years. Predeceased in 1993 by his loving wife Christine (née Peckover) as well as his sister, Olive McKenzie (nee Hider) and brothers Ernie and Ken. The very proud father of Ronald of Toronto, John (Valerie) of Vancouver, David (Lois) of Belleville, Brian (Linda) of Grimsby and Ann (Ron) Becker of Ancaster. He will be very much missed by his Grandchildren Dan (Laura), Bradley, Lisa (Jonathan) Allery, Vanessa (Casey) Bessey, Shannon, Robert, Nicholas, Jessica and Bobby as well as his Great Grandchildren Lily, Olivia, Audrey, Jonah, Claire and Rachel. Uncle to Frankie McKenzie of Brantford and Cousin to Peggy Keeler (nee Hider) of Waterloo, and so many other much loved relatives too numerous to include. A founding partner of Floorcraft/Artisan/Brant United Floorcraft for over 30 years. Scout Leader of St. Stephen’s Cubs Scouts for more than 25 years. An active member of St. Stephen Anglican/Grace Anglican Church for over 60 years. Many thanks to the wonderful and exceptionally caring staff and all his neighbours at Tranquility Place, which became Father’s/Grandpa’s/Great Grandpa’s home for 6 years. A special thanks to Dr. Ullman, Rose and their team for their compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the charity of your choice. Friends will be received at HILL and ROBINSON FUNERAL HOME and CREMATION CENTRE, 30 Nelson St. Brantford, on Saturday, June 6, 2015 from10 A.M. to 11:15 A.M.. A Funeral service will be held in the chapel at 11:15 A.M.. Celebration of his life on what would have been his 97th birthday to follow at the funeral home reception suite.
