Obituary of Ann Truant

TRUANT, Ann Tuson Birch (nee McCallum) - Surrounded by loving family, Ann passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 24th, 2015 at the Brantford General Hospital, in her 84th year. Beloved wife of Ray Truant for over 59 years. Much loved mother of Janis (Ted) Sheehan and Tim (Liz) Truant. Loving grandmother of John, Steven, Sean, Allie and Leigh. Dearly missed by her cousin John Downs and many other family members and friends. Ann grew up in Windsor and met Ray at Kennedy Collegiate. After high school she trained as a nurse in London and worked in Florida and Brantford. Ann loved the sun and water and we have many fond memories of vacations in Florida and at the family cottage in Colchester. Ann and Ray enjoyed many years of curling and socializing at the Brant Club. They also enjoyed trips to Europe and frequent visits out west to see their grandchildren. Ann’s greatest love was for her family of whom she was immensely proud. Friends will be received at the HILL and ROBINSON FUNERAL HOME and CREMATION CENTRE, 30 Nelson Street, Brantford, on Saturday, June 13th, from 1-3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Brant Community Healthcare System Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
