I wish to share my condolences with the family. I was very saddened to hear of Joyce's passing. I had the opportunity to meet Joyce back in the late 70's through her niece Darlene (who is still a very close friend). I recall thinking that it was so cool that Aunt Joyce was going to take us to Toronto to the CNE for the Eagles Hotel California tour concert. Wow...it was a great and memorable concert for sure ! Throughout the years I have had the privilege of attending a variety of family functions and social gatherings. There was always an opportunity to touch base with Joyce and catch up on life. She would make a point of chatting while spending some time together. It was through Joyce that I was introduced to the work and behind the scene operations of the local SPCA. We certainly shared a love of animals, while I have continued to foster unwanted and abandoned kittens for the SPCA, in my home over the years. Joyce was truly a unique, dynamic and memorable woman whom I will remember fondly. My thoughts are with all of you at this time.

Tim, I have many wonderful memories of your mom....one thing I hope you take from her is her strength and caring for others. She was a remarkable woman whom I knew for too short a time, but am blessed that she has touched my life. All the best to you and Doug. Pam

To Doug, Tim, Chris, Laura & families I was so sorry to hear that Joyce had passed and my heart goes out to you during this difficult time. I know you will miss her cheery smile and gentle voice. I know I will. Joyce was a special person who always had a smile on her face, loved to laugh and never had a bad word to say about anyone. A very kind, compassionate and loving friend. We were high school friends and went from adolescence to adulthood together. Was that really about 64 years ago? Although we lived cities and miles apart the connection was always there. Doug & Tim: I send you both all my love and strength to help you through this. I am at a loss for words to show my grief at Mom's passing: I always admired the love the 3 of you shared. The love and laughter was amazing. Mom taught me so many things about Love, Family and Life. She was the 'coolest' lady I will ever have had the joy of knowing. I send my heart to the entire family. We all lost a wonderful soul to Heaven.

Doug & Tim - I'm so sorry to hear of your Mom's passing. I remember her well from the Holstein Office, working with my Dad, George in the printing department in the basement of the old building. For years, every time Dad told of a story she had told him, it was "Our Timmy & Our Doug were....." I still smile when I think back on it. I know how much she always loved you two and I hope that helps you through this tough time.

Doug and Tim ...Words cannot express the sadness I feel at your loss. Your mother was a very fine woman who was loved by many. I know many of us as children thought of her as a mother figure. I personally am saddened by the fact that I didn't get a chance to tell her how much I thought of her. As far as mothers go she was as good as it gets....
