HAMMER, Edith Blanche (nee Marriott) - Peacefully at Brantford General Hospital, on Friday, December 26, 2008 in her 85th year. Loving wife of the late Lloyd Hammer for 60 years. Much loved mother of Wayne (Kathleen) of Brantford; Elaine (Wayne Lewis) of Whitehorse; Brenda (Neil Slade) of Yellowknife; Linda Lovell of Brantford; Brian of Brantford; Lorrie (Thomas Forester) of Ottawa; Dale (Tracy-C) of Brantford. Grandma will be fondly remembered by 19 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren plus 2 on-the-way. Survived by sister Frances and sister-in-law Myrtle (Charles) Minnie. Edith is predeceased by her parents George Marriott and Ivy (Joseph Spicer), sister Dorothy and brother Percy, and parents-in-law Clara and Jacob Hammer. She will also be missed by many other family members and friends. A Memorial Service will be held at Hill & Robinson Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 30 Nelson St., on Sunday, January 4, 2009. Visitation from 1 p.m. until time of service at 2 p.m. Cremation has taken place. Private family interment to follow. Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Cancer Society or a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.
