Obituary of Florence Stevenson

STEVENSON, F. Elizabeth "Betty" (nee Walker) - Passed peacefully at home on Tuesday March 3rd, 2015 at the age of 78. Betty leaves behind her beloved husband of 58 years, Jimmy Stevenson, and three children: Mark, Paul (Louise Page) and Catherine (Nathalie). Loving ''gramma'' of Kelli Laor (Cory) and Megan Stevenson. Sister of Bob, Len, and the late Irvin Walker (Dorothy). Daughter of the late James and Winnifred Walker.Passionate quilt-maker, Betty created numerous pieces of artwork for family members and friends, celebrating various occasions and traditions. Her quilts were all carefully researched and beautifully executed. Each one of them had intricate patterns and Betty made sure the pieces of fabrics were judiciously selected. She was an avid book reader, enjoying many biographies and novels on a wide-array of topics. Betty was a dedicated fan of author Joyce Meyer. She also enjoyed watching many sports and was very well informed about them all. Graduate from BGH Nursing School; Registered nurse, class of 1958. Long-time member of the Canadian Quilters' Association. Dedicated bird-watch and participant of Bird Studies Canada. Friends will be received at the HILL & ROBINSON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 30 Nelson Street, on Thursday, March 5th, 2015, from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Friday, March 6th at 1:00 p.m. Interment Farringdon Burial Ground. In lieu of flowers donations to a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.
