ECKER, Katherine (Fitzpatrick), 62, of Brantford passed away at home on Friday, June 27th, 2014. Born in Brantford and raised in Burford, she was the daughter of the late Beryl and Jeremiah Fitzpatrick. Kathy was a beloved wife and mother. She loved nature and gardening, and was eternally kind-hearted to animals as well as people, despite an extremely challenging life. She is survived by husband Clifford Ecker, son Andy (Rebecca) de Champlain and grandsons Oliver and Philip. She is also survived by her sisters Theresa and Karen, brothers Kevin, Brian and Paul, and special niece and nephew Lynn and Kevin as well as special friends Val and Rick Olsen, and Cathy Robins. Her kindness and sense of humour will be greatly missed. She was predeceased by son Marc de Champlain. Friends will be received at the HILL & ROBINSON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 30 Nelson Street on Saturday, July 12 from 1-2 p.m. A celebration of Katherine's life will follow in the chapel on Saturday at 2 p.m. with Pastor Lorraine Kearsey officiating.
