Obituary of Dina Rypma

RYPMA, Dina - Surrounded by the love of her family, Dina Rypma, passed away peacefully on January 29, 2014, at the Brantford General Hospital, in her 98th year. Born in the Netherlands, as Dina Tjalsma, she married her loving husband Thomas (1994), under the cloud of war in May, 1940. Seeking new opportunities, they immigrated to Canada , in 1952 along with their four sons. The birth of two daughters completed the family. Born with a keen mind and possessing a great memory, she was the keeper of family lore and never shy to share the stories of the family's history.Optimistic, hard working and kind she will be lovingly remembered by her children: Frank and Jenny, Roy and Karen, David and Willy, Ted and Sandy, Helen Scott (the late Bob) and Alice, at home, whose care and devotion has been constant. She was known as Beppe to her 9 dearly loved grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.Predeceased by her parents, two brothers, and one sister she and leaves behind her youngest brother, Fedde. At Dina's request, cremation has taken place and a private family gathering celebrating her life will take place at a later date.
