SMITH, Kathleen, Verdun "Kay" (nee MacDonald) - Passed away peacefully on October 8th, 2011 at Brierwood Gardens, in her 96th year. Dear wife of the late Clarence Smith (1969). Cherished mother of Paul (Beth) Smith and Janet McCallum (partner Murray Woods). Much loved grandmother of Derek, Devon and Nathan Smith. Dear sister-in-law and close friend Shirley MacDonald will miss Kay dearly. Survived by her nephews Kevin (Karen) MacDonald, Craig (Shelley) MacDonald and John Griffiths and their families. Kay has been a widow for over 40 years, predeceased by her late husband Clarence Edmund Smith (1969), son-in-law Bruce E. MacCallum (2009), brothers Jack and Keith MacDonald and sister Florence Griffiths. Friends will be received at the Hill & Robinson Funeral Home & Cremation Centre , 30 Nelson Street, (519) 752-2543, on Monday, October 24th, from 12:30 - 1:30 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held in the Chapel on Monday at 1:30 p.m. Donations to Heritage United Church, where Kay was a member for over 70 years, would be greatly appreciated.
