Obituary of John Gilchrist

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of John Wayne Gilchrist on Friday May 9th at the age of 61. Loving father to Kyle Fox (Ariana), brothers Sonny, Vince (Judy), Robert and sister Isabelle. Amazing uncle to Micheal, Robert, Brenden, Nathan, Cory, Danielle & Kayla. Great uncle to Jaida, Julianna, Jodi, Jordyn, Julius, Carter, Macy, Brody, Scarlett and Ivy. Fondly remembered by Sheila Maddock, Aunt Jill Stanly and Uncle Phil Stanley. Predeceased by his parents William “Whitey” Zane Gilchrist (2021), Myrna Maxine Carpenter (2017) and stepfather Gene Carpenter (2012). John will be sadly missed by his family, many friends and the best bear dog ever, Paco. John will be remembered for his artistic skills and passion for air brushing/painting and his willingness to always lend a hand to anyone that needed it. He was always the life of the party and you could always count on him to come up with games to play at Kyles and his nieces and nephews birthday parties. He loved fishing, biking and being outdoors. You can shed tears that he is gone Or you can smile because he has lived You can close your eyes and pray that he will come back Or you can open your eyes and see all that he has left Your heart can be empty because you can't see him Or you can be full of the love that you shared Family and friends will be received at the Hill & Robinson Funeral Home, 30 Nelson St. Brantford on Wednesday May 21st, 2025 from 11:30 until the service time at 1:30 pm. Funeral service will commence in the chapel at 1:00 pm.
